Lux School collection : San Francisco, Calif. 1911-1979.

Consists of brochures, bulletins, circulars, and other ephemeral publications produced by the school, describing its founder, facilities, courses, programs, and commencement ceremonies. Also contains papers pertaining to George Merrill, including biographical articles and clippings, articles belonging to and/or written by Merrill, typescripts, correspondence, and reports. With these are school-related ephemera and artifacts, including dance list booklets from dances and proms, valentines, paper cutouts, nametags, ribbons, and other items; and biographical materials on seven early trustees, including Phoebe Hearst, Louis Sloss, and Sarah Cooper. Also includes an unbound, two-volume typed document titled: History of the Lux School of Industrial Training, 1912-1926 (no author given); and a paperbound photocopy of another typed document titled: An outline history of the Miranda Lux Foundation and its academic predecessors, by Lawrence I. Kramer, Jr., Executive Director of the Miranda Lux Foundation.
